:::: First update in, Oh, 4 years. Life sucks, so go write a song about it. In other news, I'm hopefully broadcasting live on Radiogrounds this sunday evening, after DJBJ - playlist link to follow.

Exactly one year ago today, what is thought to be thousands of lives were lost in The United States due to a terrorist campaign against them. Everyone will remember exactly where they were and what they were doing when they heard of this... I was in work myself, and was informed by a colleague when they came in a few minutes after the first plane hit. I was due to fly out there two weeks later to visit friends, so spent the rest of the day and well into the early hours constantly hitting "redial" to check everyone was alright, eventually getting through at 2:30am (gmt) as all lines appeared to be blocked. Thankfully, the closest any of them were to the crash sites was around 20 miles (Pennsylvania) but it still makes you realise how fast things could have just finished. Like that, all over and done, with no chance to tell your friends and loved ones exactly what they mean to you, or to resolve old issues. Remember all those who didn't see it coming, those who risked their lives despite knowing of the inevitable, and those who gave their lives to save others by observing the silence at 13:46pm today (08:46 est.) If you are on a fast internet connection (as this is 7 mb in size), my friend Josey has set up a  moving remembrance tribute to what will always be referred to as 9/11 on her website Lavaholics for viewing today only.

:::: Currently undergoing a site overhaul, so to speak. Wave goodbye to the annoying midi welcome, the grey background and the system font.....

10th July 2002 23:20 gmt

:::: So much for a daily journal! It's been, what, three weeks since I updated this? Ah well.

::::So much has happened here to even contemplate squeezing it into such a small gap but I can tell you my frame of mind is currently: Very Happy. :-D

(Yes, David, that is most definitely Pink!)

21st June 2002 20:27 gmt

:::: England's World Cup campaign is over. Brazil has defeated our nations team 2 goals to 1. As with most people, I am currently in mourning, but at least we went out with a good fight.

19th June 2002 22:50 gmt

:::: I've given up for now on the frames trial, no matter how great it looks in preview, I just can't get them up here! Blah. Whatever. I shall have to formulate another plan, but for now it's not so bad the way it is.

:::: A 12-hour day tomorrow at work, I'm expecting it to be painful :-( But no matter, because England play on Friday morning, in their quarter-final clash with Brazil. After a draw with Nigeria, then a 3-0 win over Denmark this Saturday gone, it looks as though they've finally found their footing in this tournament. I'm just a little worried for two reasons, the first being that it's Brazil (obviously, seeing as they have an amazing team), and the second that it's 3:30pm Japanese heat, when our summer has been damp and rainy for the main part so far. Bah. Ah well, I'll repaint my nails and hope for the best. GO ENGLAND!

19th June 2002 03:18 gmt

:::: Okay. So I had this idea to put a links frame down the left side, instead of scrolling down all the links to find what you want. So I fired up Front page, rigged it all up and it looked great. Saved, posted...and it didn't work. No frames. This was around 11pm, and I've just figured how to put it back to some normality and have the links up... so here. Now to sleep.

12th June 2002 02:50 gmt

:::: Updating a load of winamp skins at the moment, that's my new "thing" right now! I'll be updating the journal hopefully a little more often soon too. Busy watching England thrash their way to the top at Japan (world cup) Against Nigeria in approx. 5 hours... must draw to get through to the next round....

20th May 2002 18:30 gmt

:::: Circus and star wars! Whee! :-) I took my younger brother to see Star Wars Episode II on Friday evening, and let me tell you, it rocks! I'll not give out too much detail for the sake of those who have not had the pleasure of watching it yet, but Yoda was brilliant in this one... Oop! I'll say no more! :-X

:::: I promised to write more about the circus I visited so here goes. It was pretty cool :-) A family based circus which searched the world for new performers each year. There was a girl around 19 who could keep 50 hula hoops on her waist whilst spinning some on her arm and leg too, pretty cool. Plus a trapeze battle, where this girl and a guy were "fighting" over who got control of the trapeze. There were these two guys on aerial straps, they would swing each other round and hang upside down and stuff and they were only held by the strength of the straps wrapped on their wrists. And then the clowns... they would select people from the audience to help perform.

:::: I was pulled up... There were four of us, we had to stand in a line one behind the other, raise our hands to our shoulders and turn the palms out. Then we were to move our heads back and forth Egyptian style and walk round the ring, then we were seated on stools in a way that our backs we to the next persons side, if that makes sense... then we had to lay back onto each others laps, then the stools were removed one by one... and we didn't fall! Pretty neat!

Until Next time. May the force be with you.

14th May 2002 01:36 gmt

:::: The Circus was great... trapezes and clowns and I was pulled up to the ring...*yawn* tired out. Will write again with the whole story soon.

Nighty night.... zzzzz.....

12th May 2002 21:40 gmt

:::: The first ramblings of a depressed twenty-something anime-fan...woo-hoo! this date should be marked down in history or something, there can't be many like me....

:::: Anyway, news news news.... for those who know me, there really isn't anything new! My boss in work is still on a power-trip, I live on in the hope that one day, he'll trip over and not come back through embarrassment.... Not that it's likely to happen... but it was a nice dream while it lasted!

:::: Harry Potter was released yesterday on video and DVD, so I stopped by Tesco's on my way to work yesterday morning to pick myself up a copy... The people immediately in front and behind me had copies too, and were talking to me in the queue, saying how they were buying it for their child/niece/grandchild/friends child and that they may as well watch it too... I was like, this ones for me... Why cant people just say, yeah, I like Harry Potter so I'm buying the DVD now its out... Here I am, 21 years old and admitting openly on the World Wide Web that I like Harry Potter. I've read the books, I own a copy of the movie. I don't care about peoples views! Why should they worry, not like anybody is going to remember in years to come that they bought a kids movie... The woman who served me at the movie counter worked the night shift (my local Tesco is 24hr) and told me how there were queues at midnight when they were unwrapping the stand ready to sell. Midnight! They were at the supermarket at midnight to buy a movie.... it's a crazy world we live in.

:::: The circus is in town! Whee! Gilbert and Paulo's is in the field right next to where I work from tuesday through until sunday, and I got free tickets! So I'm going tuesday evening with my college buddy Phil. It should be fun. He has a phobia about circuses and clowns, I'm not sure on how big this is yet. I guess I'll find out if he flips out as soon as we sit down in the big top. God help him if he ever meets that McDonalds clown.....

:::: And finally, finally my site is taking some form. Yay! I've added this journal so I have space for my ramblings, I've set up a chat-link so you can talk to some of my e-pals, and I've added some images to the previously-empty gallery. It's all looking good....
